Our safe and gentle nail trimming & ear cleaning services will keep your pet comfortable.
Nail trimming and ear cleaning are two basic grooming procedures that every owner should know how to do. It is best to start getting your dog used to these procedures at a young age. Your veterinarian or technician would be happy to show you the proper way to trim nails and clean ears, so you can do it at home.
You should trim your dog’s nails every two to four weeks, depending on how fast they grow and your dog’s level of exercise.
If your dog has ears that fold over, like a Labrador’s ears, you should check them on a weekly basis for any dirt or debris that may accumulate. Only clean out what you can see. If your dog’s ears stand up, they will need less frequent ear cleanings. You should clean out your dog’s ears every time they get wet by swimming, bathing, rolling in wet grass or snow to prevent the start of an infection. If the ears look red, have a bad smell, are itchy, or painful to touch, you should make an appointment with your veterinarian to check for infection.
Your veterinarian or technician can clean your dog’s ears for you. We also sell ear cleaning products that you can use at home.
