With compassion, pet euthanasia offers a tender farewell, bringing relief from pain and discomfort.
The Moncton Animal Clinic is here for you and your family when any of your pets are suffering. All pets are sedated to minimize stress, and a caring doctor and staff member will be with you and your pet during this difficult time.
Deciding when to make the very difficult decision to say goodbye to a beloved pet varies and takes into account many important factors. Consider 1. Your pet’s health and prognosis. 2. Your pet’s personality and attitude during this time of illness. 3. The emotional components and time needed by your family to nurse a sick and dying pet.
During a euthanasia procedure, pets are firstly given an injectable medication to sedate, calm, and relieve any pain. This sedative makes them very sleepy. A pet will then be euthanized humanely with an injectable drug that works very quickly to ensure that the cat experiences no pain or suffering. Afterwards, a family may say their goodbyes and decide if they wish to bury or cremate their pet.
We welcome any family member that wishes to stay with their beloved pet throughout all parts of the euthanasia process.
Aftercare is offered at varying costs based on the family’s wishes. We work with a wonderful local company called Forget Me Not Aftercare, that are respectful and understanding of what families go through in these difficult times. More elaborate urns and receptacles can be purchased from them either through us or directly from their website.
